Thanks much; that piece really affected me. Such a brutal war and yes, so senseless. Thanks for reading and your good thoughts on it. Think of all the good we could do if we enhanced life and not destroyed it? Depressing to think we do the opposite.

Perhaps we could consider humans as a relatively new species and that we're just learning. The crazy way we've acted throughout our history is only the behavior of under-educated children, who don't yet understand where their best interest lie. If we, now, can think thru these issues, help inform coming generations, help them become more thoughtful, there's a chance that future life on earth may not be always be plagued by human cruelty. It is important to not give up on our ability to learn to do better.
