I thought I was hip, well-informed about the blogo/ poda / vlogo sphere and I have been a big Amanda Congdon fan. Back in July, when she left RocketBoom, I posted, here, an appreciation of her as a new media pioneer with some of the same endearing qualities of television pioneer, Lucille Ball.
I've kept in touch with RocketBoom because I was also an Andrew Baron fan and hoped that he could keep RocketBoom going without the best Anchor he'd likely find.
All this time, since Andrew and Amanda's breakup, I've been expecting Amanda to come busting out as "Queeen of All Media", but other than hearing a rumor she would produce a feature for popurls (which has not appeared), I didn't hear mention of her, not on Adam's show, Gillmor Gang, TWIT, Inside the Net, This Week in Media, The Chris Pirillo Show (where I first learned of RocketBoom), no news came through to me about Amanda.
Then, (where did I read/see/hear it?) there's AmandaAcrossAmerica. Jeez! She started a month ago -- where was I? She's been on a sponsored blogging trip across the country, with daily text and video posts. She's interviewing bloggers, movie-makers, journalists, activists, seeing the sites -- she has a wiki, she calls her contributors, "The Force", it's an Amanda party and it's been going on without me.
Since I got clued in, I've been catching up with her, watching 2 or 3 episodes each morning, I'm busy subscribing to the bloggers she hooks up with, bookmarking sites, making notes. This is her Grande Tour -- so smart of her to do this. I want to get all I can out of it.
'manda rools!!
